SPED Teacher - Moderate Needs Interventionist

Job Description:
Responsible for the provision of an individualized service delivery model that utilizes inclusive practices through a combination of special education support provided in and outside of the general classroom environment.

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate, communicate, and consult with general education staff regarding modifications, accommodations and curriculum/interventions.

- May co-teach (per chosen model).

- May play an active role in manifestation determination meetings.

- Coordinate and monitor student specific and/or program Educational Assistants as assigned.

- Identify, coordinate, and deliver intervention services as outlined in IEPs.

- Prepare for, attend and communicate student progress during IEP meetings.

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to determine Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) programming.

- Collaborate with IEP and Assessment Specialist in development of the IEP.

- Case manager of student needs and parent communication.

- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

- May be required to travel within district boundaries.

- Responsible for developing, monitoring, and reporting of student Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

Certifications:
Colorado READ Act designation, which can be acquired via the options described at https://www.cde.state.co.us/coloradoliteracy - Colorado Department of Education, Special Education Generalist License - Colorado Department of Education

Position Salary Schedule Eligibility:
Hard to Hire

Licensed position salaries are set based on one of three salary schedules; General, Hard to Hire, and Specialist/Extremely Hard to Hire. DCSD will award up to 7 years of previous licensed teaching experience at the time of hire. Click

  • All salary amounts listed on the schedules are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
