Job Description
Possesses the knowledge, skills, and passion to consult and problem solve with staff, students and families. Knowledgeable of evidenced-based, differentiated, and innovative instruction that will support academic growth, positive social relationships, functional communication, and positive behavior for learning. Works as a member of the multidisciplinary district Autism Team under the guidance of the Autism Team Lead and the District Special Education Department. Provides professional development, training, and coaching to district staff that serves students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Collaborates with other autism team members, other special education teams, and district special education leadership. Related service (MH/ Special Education/ BCBA) Autism Team members have a strong understanding of current assessments, interpretation and report writing as it relates to Autism Spectrum Disorder. Possesses demonstrated leadership and knowledge of current interventions as they relate to their specific field of study.

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
- Provide training to school teams to improve students’ social skills.
- Provide professional development, training, and coaching to district staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents and school personnel.
- Support school teams to implement Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals with special education students.
- Support school teams to complete Functional Behavior Assessments and implement behavioral management plan(s).
- Train and coach school teams on techniques of Applied Behavioral Analysis, structured teaching and task analysis in the educational setting to children with Autism Spectrum disorder.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Consult and collaborate with special education team regarding program planning and implementation.
- Perform daily data collection, maintain student records and complete required paperwork.
- Document health related services in designated Medicaid documentation system for the DCSD School Medicaid Reimbursement Program as assigned.
