Job Description
School Psychologists in the Douglas County School District serve students across all levels (PK-12) who require universal, targeted, and intensive intervention across special education and general education populations. Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge, skills, and commitment needed to provide direct and indirect services that help students and youth succeed: academically, socially, behaviorally and emotionally. They must be able to support and establish a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students in order to: alleviate barriers to learning, engage students as individuals with unique interests and strengths, and promote student success at the student’s developmental level. Additionally, applicants should have demonstrated expertise in assessment, data based decision-making skills and psycho-educational practices, in order to plan, consult, collaborate and/or provide direct services to students. They must demonstrate knowledge of and ability to implement crisis prevention, intervention, response and recovery efforts.

Minimum Education Or Formal Training
- A minimum of a Specialist Degree in School Psychology; hold a current Colorado Department of Education Special Services License as a School Psychologist.
- Operate and use personal computers, related software and equipment (e.g., printer), telephone
- Work is performed in a school setting
- Occasional lifting five (5) to ten (10) pounds
- Frequent sitting
- Occasional bending, squatting, or standing
- Must be able and willing to obtain other certifications required for the position, including CPI certification

- Documents health related services in Designated Medicaid documentation system for the DCSD School Medicaid Reimbursement Program.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with school personnel, students and parents.
- Effective case management skills.
- Effectively implement crisis prevention, intervention, response and recovery efforts.
- Demonstrate expertise in assessment, data based decision-making skills and psycho-educational practices, in order to plan, consult, collaborate and/or provide direct services to students.
