Job Description
Responsible for offering a progression of learning in an approved pathway that includes content standards as well as career awareness. Serves as an active liaison between employers and the classroom to maintain program relevance. Collaborates with the designated district program administrator and assumes responsibility for providing skill-based learning to high school students in a particular field of expertise as set forth in the course curriculum.

Effectively communicate with staff, parents, and district stakeholders
Respond effectively to the input from and coordinate tasks with district/school personnel as required by assignment
Establish and maintain a suitable learning environment that promotes student growth and skill mastery while assuring student safety
Assist in regular program promotion and development of promotional materials for enhanced awareness and student engagement
Develop and instruct a competency-based program that, when feasible, accommodates an open entry/open exit delivery
Support policies and programs of the Douglas County School District and perform assigned duties consistent with school, district or department policies, regulations, and procedures
Cooperatively engage in the professional evaluation process with the supervisor to ensure ongoing professional growth and competence
Integrate instruction to enhance employability skills and abilities of students
Attend regular and special staff meetings and actively participate as a member of the educational team
Work to achieve the high-quality elements of Career and Technical Education
Provide instruction that is appropriately paced and designed to develop occupational skills while accounting for individual differences in ability, motivation, and learning rates
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Guide students in making decisions about careers and postsecondary options
Offer or support skill development and leadership activities for students through designated Career and Technical Education Student Organization, or CTSO
Design and implement relevant learning experiences utilizing input from an advisory committee; design a progression of learning/courses that lead to appropriate industry-recognized certifications and/or advanced training
Integrates work-based learning experiences in the CTE program/classroom
Establish and maintain student and program quality data to align with State requirements

- Relevant education or training in the related occupation as specified by CDE for the requirements of a Career and Technical Education credential
- Valid Colorado Teaching license; or willingness to obtain if required
- Possess, or a willing to obtain a valid Colorado Career and Technical Education credential allowing instruction in the assigned program.
