What are the responsibilities and job description for the LTE Clean Boats Clean Waters (CBCW) Inspector position at Douglas County (WI)?
Temporary/Seasonal Part-time on average of 19 hours per week from early-May to late September. Start and end dates may be altered based on the needs of the employee. Schedule will consist of weekends and holidays and may have some flexibility. This position is responsible for interacting with boaters to educate them about preventing the spread of invasive species.
Location(s) available: Superior, WI locations reporting to the Loon’s Foot and Billings Park 21st Street landings.
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.Daily duties include conducting watercraft inspections, performing boater surveys, communicating clearly about aquatic invasive species. Works independently and have the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Excellent verbal communication skills. Knowledge of impacts of aquatic invasive species on aquatic ecosystems, invasive species identification, background knowledge of aquatic invasive species spread prevention preferred but not required.High School diploma or GED preferred (must be at least 18 years of age), possess a valid driver's license, be able to work efficiently, work with a wide variety of people, be physically capable of working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and capable of lifting 10 lbs. Must have good attention to detail, have initiative, good work commitment and strong personal relation skills in dealing with people. Must attend CBCW training prior to ability to perform duties.Working Conditions
The typical field-based setting requires exposure to inclement weather conditions and natural terrain. Seasonal summer conditions often include heat, humidity, and exposure to biting insects.
Test Requirements: Structured Interview; Background Investigation.
