Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective budgeting processes. This role requires a strong background in accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to analyze financial data to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
- Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage the budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis.
- Ensure adherence to double entry bookkeeping practices and maintain robust internal controls.
- Prepare regulatory reporting as required by governmental agencies.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that drive business performance.
- Supervise accounting staff and provide training on best practices in governmental accounting.
- Maintain proficiency in relevant accounting software.
- Compile daily sales and P&L reports.
- Oversee tax filings.
- Identify areas for cost savings, revenue opportunities, and operations improvements.
- Monitor cash flow and forecasts.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in finance/accounting.
- Strong understanding of debits and credits, account analysis, and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with governmental accounting is highly desirable.
- Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, and account reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a finance team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
