- Assists building administration to organize and manage effective procedures for the operation and functioning of the entire school, consistent with the philosophy, mission, values and goals of the school and district.
- Facilitates communication between students and/or parents for the purpose of solving problems and/or resolving conflicts.
- Assist students with completing their Personal Education Plan PEP)
- Collaborate with school staff to identify, connect with, and support students for successful completion of high school.
- Intervenes in the occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students and/or parents for the purpose of safety and to assist students in modifying inappropriate behavior, develop successful interpersonal skills.
- Periodically reviews and analyzes student discipline and attendance records to identify specific problem areas, trends, underlying issues, etc. Based on such reviews develop recommended program or procedure changes to help prevent behavior issues and/or more efficiently respond to such issues when they occur.
- Assist with student management including suspensions and pre-expulsion conferences.
- Assist in the planning, developing, and implementing of individual student behavior plans.
- Develop clear guidelines, rules, and procedures and ensure that they are known by the school community and included in the student handbook.
- Supervise school parking lots, bus arrivals and departures, lunch periods, class change periods, and other periods in the day when students are out of classrooms.
- Regularly communicates with the school administrative team and the counseling staff regarding discipline issues and other areas of job responsibilities.
- Assist school administrators in supporting student academic progress.
- Assist in coordinating speakers, college visits, and parent meetings.
- Coordinate scholarship information with district staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of education.
- Must hold or qualify for an appropriate license from Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC).
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of Education policies.
