Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. The Estimator will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to build strong relationships and negotiate contracts effectively.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create detailed estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets and cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits to assess construction sites and gather necessary data for accurate estimating.
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that clearly outline the scope of work, pricing, and terms of the contract.
- Negotiate contract terms with clients and subcontractors to ensure favorable outcomes for all parties involved.
- Monitor ongoing projects to track costs against estimates and adjust forecasts as necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is required.
- Strong knowledge of construction site operations, cost control measures, and project management principles.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail in preparing estimates.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
