WORK LOCATION
DOTComm is located in Omaha, NE. Must be able to commute to office and client locations for in-person meetings and on-site work. Work location is hybrid with work-from-home dependent upon DOTComm and client needs.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the Network Operations functions including local-area network (including wireless), wide-area network, data, voice, network security, and policies and procedures related to Network Services. This also includes the development, deployment, and enforcement of internal policies and best practices to provide the highest possible level of service to the customer base consistent with the mission and vision of DOTComm.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Manages and supervises direct report staff including hiring, training, assigning work, scheduling, and coordinating resources. As needed, coordinate with HR to prepare and present disciplinary actions.
- Completes timely regular check-ins for each employee and documents performance and development opportunities using the performance management application.
- Communicates regularly with assigned vendors so that support and services are following contract terms. Ensures vendor contracts are updated within the DOTComm contract management system.
- Prepares and presents various reports, charts, communications, performance metrics, and strategic plans.
- Completes regular review of team’s assigned tickets to ensure tickets are documented correctly and processes are being followed.
- Establishes and implements short and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for assigned areas.
- Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions.
- Provides leadership to an assigned group of professional and technical personnel on the network services team to meet established goals and objectives and maximize system efficiency.
- Establishes and implements network and security best practices and standards. Develops and administers network and security policies and procedures. Ensure network documentation is complete and accurate.
- Creates and maintains network and security strategies. Provides highly skilled technical assistance in network planning, engineering, and architecture. Develops plan designs and makes appropriate recommendations.
- Establishes and administers a best practice and industry-standard network security program. This includes providing the appropriate documentation and training to assigned staff.
- Manages multiple and complex projects, using the DOTComm-approved development methodology to guide completion and ensure outcomes. Coordinates a team of network administrators by assigning work, coordinating resources, and reviewing work results to complete projects.
- Communicates frequently with management, peers, co-workers, and customers to coordinate project work, resolve service request issues, and clarify and resolve system issues/concerns.
- Develops an effective customer service program focusing on quality and timeliness.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience managing a medium to large-scale voice and data network environment to include daily operations, strategic planning, and risk management to include planning, scheduling, and costing; report writing; practices and principles of strategic planning; performance measurement tools and metrics; policies and procedures related to budget and procurement; network administration; Local Area Network/Wide Area Network administration; enterprise and network server hardware; patch management; and disaster recovery practices.
- Experience managing a budget in a professional setting
- Two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience.
Certificates & Licenses
Industry certifications are a plus!

Pay: $105,500.00 - $131,800.00 per year
