Dove Creek Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time or part-time veterinary technician to join our medical team. We are a busy full-service small animal practice located in a fast-growing suburban community. Our hospital puts patience care and client service first and we take pride in the opportunity to serve the Denton County area. The ideal candidate should be a motivated self-starter and team player. Experience is preferred.
Key duties, tasks, and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Consistent and effective communication with pet owners and staff
- Educating clients on basic pet care, treatment protocols, and financial information
- Management of medical records, including client information and billing, patient vital signs, and complete medical notes
- Collection of patient blood, urine and stool samples for lab testing
- Routine lab testing and interpretation
- Placement of IV catheters for administration of IV drugs and fluid therapy
- Collection and development x-rays
- Sterilization of instruments and equipment for surgery
- Preparation of patients for routine and emergency surgical procedures
- Administration of anesthesia to patients
- Safe restraint of patients of all sizes during physical examination, testing, and treatments
- Administration of in-house medical treatments to pets according to veterinarian and filling prescriptions
