Maintenance Supervisor Planner/Scheduler
JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Supervisor Planner/Scheduler plans and schedules all maintenance work including day-to-day activities, oneday outages, and major shutdowns. In addition, the incumbent provides leadership and coaching to the maintenance team in driving them to achieve work objectives and performance standards.
The Maintenance Supervisor Planner/Scheduler assists the plant in providing the necessary maintenance resources and record keeping that is required to increase plant productivity, assist in maintenance work preparations to improve work efficiencies and increase plant performance.
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will provide lead technical, business support and analysis for and within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) inclusive of support of asset management, work planning and spare parts inventory within the software. Coordinates the interface of the CMMS system, procedures and data transfer to various departments and databases. Ensures all CMMS procedures are developed and followed throughout the organization.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED. BS degree or certification(s) in technical and/or maintenance related discipline preferred.
- At least five (5) years of maintenance and supervisory experience.
- At least three (3) years of industrial experience in a chemical plant or other related industry experience.
- At least two (2) years of PSM experience greatly preferred.
- Must have prior experience in stores MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operating materials) Inventory Management Experience.
- Experience working in a union environment a plus.
The Maintenance Supervisor Planner/Scheduler reports to the Maintenance Manager
COMPETENCIES:
Technical Knowledge
- Working knowledge of chemical plant equipment (pumps, piping, heat exchangers, vessels, instrumentation, etc.).
- Background in maintenance and repair of equipment to effectively plan daily maintenance department activities.
- Experience working and managing on a PSM site. PHA and MOC experience are strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of chemical manufacturing systems and processes.
- Must have maintenance project management knowledge/experience.
- Capability to analyze and troubleshoot operational and equipment problems and provide reasonable and accurate recommendations and solutions.
- Knowledge of both batch and continuous operations.
- Six Sigma training and knowledge a plus.
- Knowledge of Federal / State EPA and OSHA compliance standards.
Work Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to identify and prioritize multiple projects and perform work with a constant awareness of improving processes.
- Proven experience utilizing work management processes to plan and schedule maintenance work.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to individuals; ability to present complex situations in a concise manner.
- Must interact effectively with technical and professional contacts, as well as hourly workforce. Must have excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Computer skills are a must with knowledge of CMMS, ERP, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint systems/programs.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms and paging.
- Must be able to work around hazardous chemicals and exposure to dust.
- Ability to regularly work in and be exposed to outside weather elements (i.e. rain, snow, cold, heat).
- Must be able to be periodically "on-call" on designated weekends and holidays and available on-site during plant shutdowns / start-ups, plant commissioning and decommissioning activities, and other operational events, planned and unplanned, when required.
- Must be able to work day, afternoon and evening shifts, weekends, holidays as needed.
- Must be able to regularly work around and atop industrial equipment, including frequent ascending and descending of stairs and ladders, move about the plant and office, bending, kneeling, crouch or squat, twist, stooping and remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Must be able to ascend to and position self to work at high elevations when necessary and required.
- Must be able to frequently move objects weighing up to 10 lbs. routinely and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
