Our Brazers are responsible for soldering parts together. This includes assembling pieces, applying flux, soldering using machines or hand tools, inspecting parts, and reworking parts as necessary. We are looking for individuals with prior experience in brazing, the willingness to learn and the ability to perform repetitive work in a safe manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reads work orders and blueprints to determine assembly and brazing procedures.
- Engages in training and retains information, Including machine uses and processes and temperature settings.
- Align and clamp workpieces together, using rules, squares, or hand tools, or position items in fixtures, jigs or vises.
- Brush flux onto joints of workpieces or dip braze rods into flux to prevent oxidation of metal.
- Melt and apply solder along adjoining edges of workpieces to solder joints, using soldering irons, gas torches, or electric-ultrasonic equipment.
- Clean workpieces to remove direct or excess acid, using chemical solutions, files, wire brushes, or grinders.
- Performs pressure and leak testing, identifying causes of defects and determining solution.
- Rework parts as necessary by guiding torches and rods along joints of workpieces to heat them to brazing temperature, melt braze alloys, and bond workpieces together.
- Turn valves to start flow of gases and light flames and adjust valves to obtain desired colors and sizes of flames.
- Melt and apply solder to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products, using soldering equipment.
- Heat soldering irons or workpieces to specified temperatures for soldering, using gas and flames or electric current.
EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to perform repeated physical tasks.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to learn brazing procedures.
- Prior knowledge of brazing or experience preferred.
