Summary
The Director of Strategic Sourcing oversees strategic planning, commodity management, supplier selection, cost optimization, capital management, and risk mitigation. This role collaborates across functions-including Product Development, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Product Line Management, CPC Business Units, and partners with external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products aligned with financial goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to align supplier capabilities with business objectives, contributing to strategic and operational planning.
- Lead, mentor, and drive high-performance outcomes within the CPC sourcing team.
- Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies; manage strategic supplier relationships, including performance management and RFx processes.
- Partner to co-develop and implement sourcing strategies, covering supplier identification, contract negotiations, and relationship management.
- Foster partnerships with strategic suppliers to ensure timely, high-quality deliveries; identify opportunities for cost savings, risk mitigation, and process improvements.
- Assess supply chain risks for small molecule portfolios, developing contingency plans to ensure supply continuity.
- Monitor industry trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies; perform market analyses to uncover new opportunities and risks.
- Drive efficiency through data analytics, implementing improvements in sourcing processes, and leveraging performance metrics for supplier optimization.
- Support the annual budget process, analyze Bills of Material (BOM), and provide cost guidance to identify financial risks and opportunities.
- Uphold and assist in developing Sourcing & Supplier Quality policies; support ISO, ASI, and other certifications.
- Maintain and enhance the ERP system to improve reporting and operational efficiency.
- Demonstrate support of CPC core values. Comply with all company policies and safety regulations.
