OBJECTIVE: Manage plant processes including Safety, Production Operations, Inventory, and Distribution

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Forecast, direct, and coordinate plant production operations to ensure that safety, quality, and production goals / KPIs are met.
- Identify and develop processes to increase plant effectiveness; continuous improvement in product throughput and efficiency, minimization of waste, cost effective, timely use of materials and ingredients, and optimization of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Foster cross-department collaboration to streamline communication, improve efficiency, and drive alignment between production, quality, logistics, and maintenance teams.
- Maintain close working relationships with customers, as appropriate, in the areas of customer service including complaints, new orders, order changes, product specifications, inventory, order fulfillment, and delivery
- Have a solid working knowledge of, provide input on, write or revise Productions / Quality related information contained in the QMS.
- Ensure that GMP’s and PPEs are always in compliance at all stages of the production and shipping/receiving process
- Source multiple vendors who provide materials, as needed, for cost effectiveness, appropriateness of its purpose, and availability
- Work with the Maintenance Manager to analyze down time, determine root cause, and implement solutions to minimize production gaps. Provide input and make recommendations to the Maintenance Manager for process improvements regarding equipment and overall facility operations systems.
- Adhere to inventory management processes including FEFO, FIFO, etc.
- Determine training opportunities for production supervisor, materials supervisor, and material handlers; communicated those needs to human resource director where appropriate
- Write performance evaluations for those under this title’s supervision, determine competencies under this title’s supervision.
- Assign and train personnel who handle food product waste in accordance with policy
- Write or assist in creation of work instructions for production, and material handling hourly positions
- Identify, investigate and resolve all CAPA investigations with the team. Apply problem solving techniques to achieve the true root cause.
- Communicate and enforce our mission, policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, standards, practices, culture, and philosophy.
- Stay up to date with industry’s best practices and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in food safety, production efficiency, and workplace safety.
- Active member of the HACCP Team and Development Team
- Maintain current certifications/licenses for all necessary equipment as applicable
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in operations management, Engineering, Logistics, or other closely related field of study and 2 years experience in a production management role within food manufacturing/packaging arena or
- High School Diploma may be accepted along with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a production management role within food manufacturing/packaging arena
