What are the responsibilities and job description for the Para-Educator Class IV- Trained Diabetes Personnel position at Dover Middle School?
The position is school day plus bus transportation to and from school. Employee will provide own transportation to student’s home to support riding bus with the student to and from school. This position is an 8.5 hour per day position and does include retirement benefits due to weekly hours worked.
The TDP, under the supervision of the school RN will:
•monitor blood glucose levels
•check student blood sugar, support students in counting carbohydrates,
•be knowledgeable in current technology (CGM’s/insulin pumps)
•check for keytones and administer diabetes related medications including glucagon in case of a severe hypoglycemic reaction
•Communicate with RN regarding student care and status
•Maintain written communication log between home and school
Salary : $16 - $25
