What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Dover School District, SAU 11?
General Maintenance Technician reporting to the Facilities Director of Dover schools; responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems, equipment, and furnishings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Perform preventative maintenance to mechanical equipment and systems
•Perform corrective work orders including but not limited to those listed below, using common hand and power tools:
oPatching and painting walls and surfaces
oRepair, replace or adjust inoperable doors and hardware
oReplace damaged or missing ceiling tiles
oCove base and carpet repairs
oHang boards, pictures, signs, and other wall fastened items.
oMinor furniture repairs
oGeneral carpentry functions
oMinor plumbing repairs
•Sourcing of parts and supplies to perform work functions
•Work from elevated areas such as ladders and platforms, utilizing protective equipment when required
•Work without direct supervision on daily assigned work
•Effectively communicate with school and facilities staff to accomplish assigned tasks
•Maintain adherence to work schedule and availability to work overtime as required
•Perform other related duties as assigned, such as assisting other tradesmen and emergency repairs
•Maintain communication with supervisor regarding unresolved work issues
