Dover Sherborn Elementary Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant to work with students in grades K-5. Educational Assistants lead individual and small groups to support academic and social/emotional skills. Staff also support the school's functions by supervising lunch, break times/recess, and assisting teachers with material preparation. Data collection on student progress is also an extremely important aspect of this role.
Educational Assistants will be provided support and direction from special education and general education staff. Recommended Qualifications: Bachelor-level coursework in the field of education or a related area. Experience supporting students using strategies for differentiated instruction. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Primary responsibilities: To supervise, nurture, and support students. Facilitate classroom activities in support of students academic, social/emotional and behavioral learning needs. Ensure inclusion services and accommodations are consistently provided to students per their disability-related needs. Implement and collect data for designated academic learning activities and positive behavior support plans.
Communication with general education staff and special education staff regarding student progress. Supervision of students in the classroom, at lunch, during breaks and/or during recess. Take initiative by collaborating and communicating with staff. Data Collection as instructed.
