What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute School Nurse position at Dover Sherborn School District?
Dover-Sherborn Public Schools is seeking a District School Nurse Substitute to start as soon as possible.
Qualifications:
Valid license to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
Current certification in CPR/AED.
Recent pediatric or community health experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of healthcare as it relates to children and adolescents.
Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The substitute nurse is a registered nurse who assumes the responsibilities and duties of the school nurse in the event of his/her absence or on off-campus field trips. The substitute nurse is expected to respond to all student and staff healthcare needs during the school day and document these encounters in the electronic health information system (SNAP). As a nurse registered through the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (BORN), the Nurse must adhere to the Nurse Practice Act, pertinent regulations governing nursing practice, and standards of care established by the professional organizations.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Medication administration
Emergency and first aid care as necessary
Implementation of Individual Health Care Plans as developed by the school nurse
Communicate with parents, faculty, staff, and medical providers as necessary
Salary : $200
