CNC Machinist III

Essential Functions

• Regularly performs milling, turning, drilling, loading/unloading materials, running programs, tapping, de-burring, sawing, and sanding tasks;
• Proficient with analog and digital measuring devices including, but not limited to OD mics, ID mics, bore gages, height gages, and dial calipers.
• Experienced in set up and fixture building;
• Execute in-process inspections of machined products and documenting results;
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designee;
• Completes and maintains paperwork for parts;
• Maintain safe and orderly working area conditions.

Required Education or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED; 
• Two (2) or more years of technical experience (including education); and
  
• Seven (7) or more years of related CNC operating experience.

Preferred Education or Experience

• Graduate from a technical school; 
• Experience with SolidWorks, Catia, and MasterCam, Fusion360 CAD software.

Supervisory or Management Responsibility

• This position has no direct supervisory or management responsibilities.

Primary Work Environment

• Climate controlled primarily, occasionally not climate controlled;
• Shop/Warehouse; Occasional loud noises;
• Occasional fumes and particles; and
• Frequent moving mechanical equipment and vibrations.

Expected Days and Hours

• Monday through Friday
  
  • First Shift - 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m.
    

Open and able to work occasional overtime, weekends, and willing to rotate shifts as required dependent on workload.

Travel

• Travel is rarely expected for this position.

Required Personal Equipment/Tooling

• Protective steel-toed footwear.

Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for job duties and responsibilities will be provided as necessary by Dow Aero, including protective eyewear, respirator, etc.
