About you and this role
Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Director for Finance Global Reporting and Data Coordination located in Midland, MI. In this role, you will provide leadership to a global team of Finance professionals with ultimate oversight and accountability for financial reporting performance and results.
The Finance Global Reporting (FGR) Accounting Director, in conjunction with Finance Systems resources:
  • Inclusively leads and inspires a highly motivated and diverse global team of finance professionals in delivering highly reliable closing and outlook cycles from beginning to end across the ECC, Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC), and Diamonds Systems Solutions (DSS) reporting platforms.
  • Lead the change management efforts around the artificial intelligence journey for Finance.
  • Help accelerate Dow’s financial acumen objectives by increasing the awareness, education, and adoption of finance analytics.
  • Lead reporting solution support and serve as a finance reporting Co-Pilot for business and functional partners.
  • Provide stewardship for ECC data coordination, IDH projects and Record & Report (R/R) data in Diamond Systems Reporting (DSR).
  • Lead the consistent delivery and data integrity of the R/R deliverables during monthly, quarterly, and year-end finance closings for the Finance organization.
  • Lead the support and maintenance of financial reporting for Joint Ventures, Acquisitions, and Divestitures.
  • Lead/Coordinate/Interact with Cross-Functional teams on global projects in support of corporate initiatives.
  • Represents Finance Global Reporting and Data Coordination as a member of the Finance Systems Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
  • Assist FGR team members with career planning and employee development efforts; talent evaluation/recruiting to maintain a highly motivated and effective team.
  • Work closely with the DSS Finance team for new and enhanced existing financial reporting deliverables development and implementation (often per Corporate, Business, and/or Functional request).
  • Lead the change journey around Artificial Intelligence for the Overall Finance Function working with various stakeholders and AI champions.
  • Serve as a member of the Finance Development Program for Accountants Steering Team (Finance Systems representative).
  • Participate in Leadership activities (Lunch with Leaders, Finance Gallery Walk & Experience Finance, Summer Internship host, etc.).
  • Manage FGR SME and Data Coordinator resources to provide optimal ongoing support of the R/R DSR Deliverables and Global Reporting tools.
  • Provide consultation / assistance as required with the following groups: Business Finance, Cost, Corporate Controllers, Corporate Reporting, other Finance sub-functions, technology / service center SMEs, etc.
  • Work closely with I/S for R/R applications and data processing during daily, monthly, quarterly, and year end close processing and global reporting support required by the Finance function.
  • Understand company, functional strategy and Dow tenant strategy to determine impact to FGR, R/R reporting users’ requirements and global reporting tools used in DSR.
  • Understand data interrelationships across work processes and operating platforms (ECC, BW, IDH, etc.).
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience.
  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Your Skills
  • CPA is helpful, but not required.
  • Accounting: Deep understanding of Dow’s accounting structure, processes and businesses.
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles: Strong foundation in US GAAP accounting.
  • Project Management: Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strategic Thinking: Detail oriented and strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and manage changes.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Data Analytics: Understanding Dow's data literacy and data platforms.
