About you and this role
Dow has an opening for a Site Logistics Improvement Manager located in Hahnville, LA. This role serves as a vital resource for site logistics by applying technical and organizational skills to drive the plant level continuous improvement program targeted at delivering maximum value from the assets, while continuously improving process safety and production efficiency. Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.
Responsibilities
  • Possess in-depth process technology and continuous improvement skill sets helping to establish credibility with the site logistics team.
  • Drive knowledge exchange with technology experts to increase awareness of potential improvement opportunities for the technology.
  • Champion the “next unplanned event” exercise for the plant and ensures potential solutions are captured in the appropriate prioritization system.
  • Serve as the implementation arm of the technology center.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations and translate these insights into actionable plans to enhance service delivery and satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance logistics processes, resulting in increased efficiency, cost savings, and improved service delivery. By continuously identifying and executing improvement opportunities, contribute to the overall value creation for the organization and its customers.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant (PO2/Sgt) Military ranking is required.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

  • Process Improvement: The ability to identify inefficiencies in logistics processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. This involves analyzing current workflows and developing strategies to optimize operations.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to oversee logistics projects from inception to completion. This includes planning, executing, and monitoring projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaboration: Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with other departments such as supply chain, manufacturing, and customer service. This ensures seamless logistics operations and alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing logistics data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost savings. This skill is crucial for making data-driven decisions and optimizing logistics performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: A thorough understanding of relevant regulations and standards to ensure that all logistics operations comply with legal and industry requirements. This helps in maintaining compliance and avoiding potential legal issues.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to convey logistics plans, updates, and improvements to team members and stakeholders. Effective communication ensures that everyone is on the same page and working towards common goals.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to quickly identify and resolve issues that arise in logistics operations. This skill is essential for maintaining smooth and efficient logistics processes and minimizing disruptions.
