What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at Dowd Bennett LLP?
Dowd Bennett is seeking a litigation paralegal to join its St. Louis office. The paralegal will assist attorneys in case management and all stages of litigation matters. Ability to travel and overtime may be needed occasionally.
Responsibilities:
Manage Document Production Processes
· Assist with the collection and production of documents from client, opposing parties, and third parties.
· Prepare privilege logs.
· Manage logistics of document production.
Case Filings and Case Management
· Oversee and maintain litigation case files and calendar case deadlines.
· Draft routine court filings, written discovery, written discovery responses, routine correspondence, appellate documents, and manage service of process.
· Check legal citations for proper format, content, and accuracy.
· Compile appendices and exhibits and prepare briefs and motions for filing.
· Prepare trial/witness binders and exhibits.
· Attend trials and hearings, as necessary.
Administrative
· Coordinate deposition schedules.
· Assist with attorney travel arrangements and expense reimbursements.
· Perform other administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage trial logistics).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate.
- 5 years’ experience as litigation paralegal.
- Experience filing documents in state and federal courts.
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, practices, etc.
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize different tasks without direct supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Relativity.
- Familiarity with trial presentation software.
