Position: Construction Laborer
Department: Installation and maintenance team
Reports To: Project Manager
Overall Responsibility
Perform various labor tasks (including loading, unloading and moving materials, trenching installation of stormwater control measures and other manual tasks) as instructed by the project manager per DTEC’s quality, safety and efficiency standards and expectations. Successful laborers will be the example for quality, safety, and output as well as modeling DTEC’s values.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Understand, agree, and commit to DTEC company values.
- Contribute to the success of a small installation and maintenance team.
- Be responsible for your own personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety vest, safety toe boots, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, FR clothing) and follow DTEC’s safety policies and programs.
- Proactively identify and avoid potential hazards.
- Report any vehicle, trailer or equipment repair or maintenance items to the project manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Attributes
- Follow instructions project manager or leader on site
- Some knowledge of tools and equipment.
- Appropriate appearance.
- Positive attitude.
- Encourage equipment damage prevention.
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions. Be prepared with appropriate clothing.
- Maintain an outstanding pace of work through an 8-10 hour day.
- Be timely and reliable.
- Ability to communicate with other team members and clients.
- Uses effective judgment benefiting the client, the company, and the team.
