Purpose of this Position : The purpose of this position is to act as the face of Down To Earth offering an enriching shopping experience for our customer base, providing top notch customer service and facilitating sales through customer education and product expertise all the while supporting our company culture and business mission. Secondly, this position will be responsible for inventory levels on the sales floor, keeping displays stocked and presentable, observing for shoplifting and maintaining the cleanliness of the merchandise we sell. Third and finally, this position is responsible for administrative duties including but not limited to cashiering and answering phones.

a) Sales & Customer Service
- Greet every customer who comes into our store with a warm welcoming smile.
- Facilitate sales on the sales floor.
- Go above and beyond to provide top notch customer service 100% of the time.
- Working as part of a team with a unified goal of educating our customer base about the products we sell and their intended use.
- Answering customer questions or directing them to the appropriate employee who can.
- Cashiering.
- Politely answering phones and directing customer inquiries to the appropriate department / person.

2. Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience :
3. Physical Skills and Abilities : Required to be standing / mobile for extended periods of time. Requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to move throughout the retail location; the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read a computer screen.

6. Environmental Conditions of the position : Down To Earth maintains a non-smoking casual environment. This position is based at our Eugene retail store. Houseware and Garden departments work inside a heated space and the Nursery is outdoors and exposed to the elements. A high degree of personal cleanliness and appropriate dress is required.
