What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager on Duty (MOD) position at Down to Earth?
We are currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Manager on Duty. As a Manager on Duty, you will be the leader in charge during your shift, responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations and delivering outstanding customer service. This is a hands-on role where you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on the success of our store and the satisfaction of our customers. We are in need of MODs at our Kapolei, Kailua, and Pearlridge locations.
Experience
Manager on Duty, Clerk V -
- Minimum of two years retail experience.
- Minimum of one year experience in purchasing, merchandising and selling.
- Minimum of one year leadership or supervisory experience.
- Formal education in natural health, nutrition and/or healing preferred.
Skills
- Each product has its own story, benefits and uses. Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in the department.
- Ability to solve a variety of situations in a productive, friendly, and courteous manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow Team Members and customers.
- Ability to perform basic computer functions, particularly whilst utilizing Microsoft programs.
Starting Pay
- Manager on Duty, Clerk V – $27 per hour

Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and ensure smooth functioning of the store.
- Manage inventory levels, including purchasing and stocking of products.
- Supervise and train staff, fostering a positive team environment.
- Handle customer service inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of sales and cash register transactions.
- Implement merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and sales.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly regarding nutrition.
