Downeast Windjammer Cruise Lines LLC seeks a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Boat Crew. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to sail on the iconic 151' 4-masted schooner Margaret Todd and our coastal ferries from Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, and Winter Harbor.
The sailing schedule is busy, with many days spent navigating the rockbound and foggy coast of Maine. Our crew must be able to pass a DOT drug test, and we are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic and teamwork skills.
We are a hands-on organization with many staff members who have started as deckhands and moved on to become captains of our vessels. A serious interest in traditional working vessels is essential to our core values.
We restore, renovate, and build many of the vessels we operate, and all our staff members get their hands dirty, regardless of position or experience level. Our sailing area on the Maine coast offers some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, surrounded by Acadia National Park.
As a member of our crew, you can expect competitive day rates and tips. Housing may be available, but this is not guaranteed.
