Position Summary
An Operator III CCTV-Jet/Vac performs the inspection, maintenance and operation of collection utilities. Tasks involve assessment of pipelines using CCTV technology, operating hydro-jetting and vacuum cleaning equipment, use of safety equipment, hand tools and light motorized equipment. The Operator III CCTV-Jet/Vac is under the direct supervision of the Collections Foreman and will sometimes report to the Superintendent and Project Manager (PM). They may also request specific needs from the Equipment and Inventory Coordinator (EIC) for equipment or tools. They are responsible for following onsite safety protocols in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and any jobsite specific safety documents as identified by the PM. The Operator III CCTV-Jet/Vac leads projects and assists Management in developing and training Operator levels OIT-II.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Advanced level class in this series
· Performing the full range of inspection, maintenance and operation duties and is expected to work independently and train crews on the understanding and development for the operation of CCTV and Jet/Vac equipment
· Assist in training Collections Technicians, OITs, and Operator I-II levels
· Advanced in small and large cleaning equipment operation, including mini vacs, large jet/vac combination trucks and jetter trailers, and the proper cleaning tools (nozzles, suction hoses, flow regulating and weight capacity per manufacturers recommendations)
· Understands all industry safety requirements
· Adheres to the NASSCO PACP, LACP, and MACP
· Adheres to the NASSCO Jetter Code of Practice
· Inspect equipment for mechanical items and safety issues and, when able, perform simple preventative maintenance and report problems with equipment
· Comply with DOT truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
· Attend and complete all company safety and equipment training as scheduled and required
· Follow safety expectations for operation of equipment and tools, select appropriate equipment for performing work, adhere to safety protocols to perform work, and wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
· All company employees are expected to handle themselves in a professional, respectful, calm, and constructive manner
· Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees
· Ability to travel and accommodate night and weekend work as needed

· Specific Truck assignments are the goal of the Department. If a specific vehicle is assigned to the Operator, they will have full responsibility of the specific equipment and its operational needs, assigned specialty equipment for their scope and reporting all mechanical and maintenance items when needed to the Collections Foreman, EIC, and PM. As well as documenting in writing and/or in the Asset management program. The assignment of vehicles will be project and position specific.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
· High School Diploma or GED, required
· Minimum of 3 years as an Operator II CCTV and Operator II Jet/Vac or equivalent, required
· Must have completed all training for Operator II CCTV and Operator II Jet/Vac and received sign off from Collections Foreman or Superintendent
· Must possess a valid NASSCO PACP | LACP | MACP certification
· Must possess a valid Class A/B commercial driver license with Tank Vehicle (N) endorsement and maintain DOT physical examination. Hazardous Materials (H) or Tank & Hazardous Materials (X) endorsement and manual transmission capabilities are preferred.
· Advanced knowledge of machines and tools for uses, repair, maintenance
· Advanced use of related tools to complete work assignments
· Knowledge of and able to apply arithmetic and basic geometry to work tasks
· Ability to measure, read, and convey lengths with ruler or tape with high degree of accuracy
· Proficient utilization of a smart phone/tablet/laptop and supported software (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word)
· Able to think critically and use good judgment to solve problems
· Ability to take direction, work independently with minimal supervision, and in team environment
· Ability to apply active listening skills, ask clarifying questions, and complete assignments as directed
· Must be able to comprehend safety instructions and signage, communicate effectively in emergency situations and understand written safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers
· Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills and engage with all levels of teams, clients, business partners, and management
· Must maintain security clearance for base access
· Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license required, and favorable driving record
· Ability to travel using various modes (e.g., automobile, train, air) and accommodate night and weekend work as needed

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 155 pounds with assistance. Employee may be required to work extended hours, alternative shifts (night or weekend), and travel for project needs. The employee is required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Must be medically approved for all respirators to be able to work in permit required confined space.
