Youth Leader/Camp Counselor (SEASONAL) (Eugene)
The Youth Programs Department at the Downtown Athletic Club is seeking a seasonal Youth Leader/Camp Counselor.
DAC Kids Summer Camp is all about Play, Move, Connect!
We are an 11-week summer camp offered to kids ages 6-11, starting June 17th and going through August 30th, and focus on an array of games and activities such as basketball, volleyball, indoor hockey, dodgeball, swimming, Tribe Kids, and much more!
We are a small camp that focuses on smaller groups of 8-10 kids.
Activities take place at the Downtown Athletic Club in Eugene.
Hours: approx. 35-45 hours per week
Length of employment:
- 12-13 weeks (1-2 weeks of onboarding and prep, 11 weeks of camp)
- June 3rd through August 30th
- 8 hour days
- Pay: $15/hr
*Main duties*
- Supervise kids from 8am – 4pm through a variety of games, sports, arts and crafts, and activities.
- Ensure safety of kids throughout camp
- Provide support and guidance throughout camp
- Help to facilitate a fun and exciting environment
- Ability to adapt and be energy and enthusiastic
- Interacts effectively with children and loves working with them
*Requirements*
- Must be 16 years or older
- Valid First aid and CPR
- Background check required (completed by the DAC)
- Food Handler's Card
- Blood Born Pathogen cert.
*Experience*
- Camp: 1 year (preferred)
- Fitness: 1 year (preferred)
- Lifeguard certification (Plus!)
