Downtown Fresno Partnership (DFP) seeks a self-motivated, creative person for the full-time position of Program Manager. The ideal candidate should possess great organizational skills, exceptional writing and communication abilities, staff management experience, familiarity with small business, and a love for revitalizing urban areas.
Responsibilities:
The Program Manager is responsible for multiple facets of the organization and reports to the President & CEO of DFP. The position both carries an individual portfolio of projects and manages work by others, depending on the task and team capacity. Areas of individual or supervising responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Management of all marketing and communications programs for the DFP including creating and disseminating content for various forms of media (digital, print, broadcast, etc.), public relations (including creating and distributing news releases, interviews, etc.), creation of collateral materials, and more
- Managing Downtown Fresno brand standards for consistency and positive portrayal through all communications mediums
- Engaging and supporting Downtown businesses, including moving original ideas through the design cycle from awareness to concept to iteration to launch
- Supporting property owners in tenant recruitment and development through collective initiatives for leasing, tenant improvements, façade improvements, popup storefronts, etc.
- Creation and management of special programs including placemaking efforts, grant writing/reporting, events and promotions, advocacy, negotiating and developing partnerships with private property owners, private businesses, other nonprofits, and government agencies
- Participating in event production to ensure overall teamwide coordination, effective partner engagement, and furtherance of DFP’s program goals
- Research and reporting of vital statistics relating to organizational efforts, downtown growth, visitation patterns, etc., including creation of organization’s Annual Report
- Management of intern programs including hiring, outlining scope of work, and measuring outcomes
- Assisting in the development of strategic plans and budgets related to specific projects and the organization
This position oversees the work of employees relating to specific programs, and the ability to adapt to changes in projects, schedules, and team dynamics is essential. The Program Manager should be able to deal with staff behavioral problems, tardiness, etc. with appropriate solutions.
With guidance and assistance from the President & CEO, the Program Manager also leads DFP’s staff support of the Downtown Fresno Foundation, as its Executive Director. This role requires managing the Foundation’s board meetings and agendas, presenting an annual budget and regular financial reports, performing the duties of the Foundation as a fiscal sponsor of grant-funded projects, operating Foundation programs such as the Downtown Academy, and facilitating short- and long-term goal-setting for the organization.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, mass communications or related field; and two years of experience that include work in community relations. Additional years of qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Possession of a valid California Driver's License is required at the time of appointment. Candidates considered for hire must provide proof of a valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent written/verbal communication skills, knowledge of/proficient use of social media including Instagram and Facebook, and experience with tools such as CapCut, Canva, and Adobe products for developing content and collateral materials.
The ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish as well as English plays an important role in the work of the team and is strongly preferred.
Compensation:
Starting salary will range from $68,700 to $70,000 based on experience, with annual increases based on resource availability, changes in the market, and written performance reviews. This is an exempt position that is not eligible to receive overtime pay.
