Marketing Assistant
PART TIME: 12 /- HRS/WEEK
$17-$21 / HR
Hours:
· Average of 12 /- hrs/ per week
· Some weeks with additional weekend hours, leading up to and including events
Location:
· WORKSPACE and a variety of locations within the Downtown Manchester Special Services District
· Must be located locally in order to run events, attend on-site meetings, and visit downtown businesses as needed
Benefits:
· Paid-Time-Off accrued at the rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, to be accumulated up to 40 hours
Schedule
· Some flexibility, set deadlines and mandatory events
· Respond to all emails within 24 hours during the work week
· Attend a regularly scheduled weekly meeting with the Downtown Manager
· Attend a regularly scheduled weekly Marketing Meeting with our Marketing Committee
· Attend our events including “Second Saturdays” every month
Primary Responsibilities
· Website Management
· Content Creation: Blogs, News and Newsletter
· Press Releases
· Event Planning & Working at events
· Social Media Management
· Sponsor Solicitation & Fulfillment
· Event Permittee Support
· Light admin/assisting work, as needed
This position works closely with the Downtown Manager and there will be some overlap of responsibilities for certain tasks. Clear and ongoing communication will be imperative.
Minimum Training and Experience
· A minimum of a High School Diploma, Associates Degree or higher Preferred.
· A minimum of two-years of work experience preferred
· Strong preference for experience with event planning, Social-Media Management, office administration and other public relations tasks
Desirable Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
· Knowledge of or ability to learn the principles and practice of marketing and promotion activities
· Ability to express oneself in both oral and written form
· Strong problem solving abilities and interpersonal skills
· Ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously, and to work on projects with committees or teams
· Ability to deal courteously with the public, district members, and Commissioners, and to maintain effective working relationships with district members and with other agencies
· Ability to work independently, without direct daily supervision, identifying and prioritizing tasks on a short-term and long-term basis
· Proficiency in utilizing the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook) as well as familiarity (or ability to learn) additional programs such as: Zoom, Google Suite, Open Forms, Canva, Facebook and Instagram
· Knowledge of or ability to learn programs for website management, CRM, and email campaigns
· Typing proficiency of a minimum of 60 wpm
Physical or Mental Effort/Environmental And Working Conditions
· Must be mobile and able to perform moderately difficult manipulative skills such as using a computer.
· Must be able to see objects closely, as in reading a report.
· Must be able to hear normal sounds with some background noise, as in answering a telephone, and able to communicate through human speech.
· Must be able to concentrate on fine detail with some interruption, and attend to task for more than 60 minutes at a time, and remember multiple assignments for long periods of time.
· Must be able to understand and relate to specific ideas, usually several at a time, and to understand and relate to the theories behind several related concepts.
· Job may include exposure to electromagnetic radiation as in CRT’s or VDT’s
