Position Summary:
Downtown Rescue Mission is a Christian nonprofit organization dedicated to serving our community through ministry and service. Our thrift store is a vital part of our mission, providing affordable goods to the community and generating funding for our programs. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Thrift Store Manager to oversee all aspects of store operations while maintaining alignment with our Christian values and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Provide strong leadership to the thrift store team, fostering a positive and mission-focused work environment.
- Supervise, train, and support store staff and volunteers, ensuring a shared commitment to the organization's values.
- Schedule staff and volunteers effectively to meet operational needs.
Store Operations:
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing to customers.
- Manage inventory, including sorting, pricing, and rotating donations.
- Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies.
Customer and Community Relations:
- Provide exceptional customer service, reflecting Christian hospitality and compassion while upholding Downtown Rescue Mission policy.
Mission Integration:
- Promote the mission and values of Downtown Rescue Mission through store operations and interactions.
- Provide support and guidance to customers, staff, and volunteers in line with Christian principles.
Qualifications
- Previous retail management or thrift store experience is required.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Proven ability to manage inventory, merchandising, and financial aspects of a retail operation.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
