What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Director position at Downtown Surgery Center?
Job Summary:
The Clinical Director is responsible for the day-to-day clinical operation and oversight of the Center. The management spectrum covers planning, organizing, delegating, coordinating, staff utilization, resource allocation, cost controls, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred.
- Demonstrated communication skills which indicate ability to be successful at counseling, teaching, and assessing.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional journals, nationally recognized guidelines and regulations.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, staff, physicians, and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to effectively present information to staff, management and physicians.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, medical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with strong experience in Operating Room, PACU, or Pre-Admission in a endoscopic or surgical setting
- 1-3 years of management/leadership experience, knowledge of CMS guidelines, experience with policies and procedures, prefer at least one year experience in ambulatory care
- Basic computer knowledge
- A current license from the State
- Current BCLS certification
