Summary
The Manager of Consumer Products (MCP) is responsible for general management and oversight of the MADE by DWC consumer products (CP) line of business (LOB) and its job training program. This role focuses on the seven (7) functional areas of the LOB, including administrative duties, production, logistics, research & development, sales, quality control, and creating a best-in-class paid job training program. This position supervises regular staff and trainees to ensure effective store operations. The MCP works in close collaboration with other DWC staff, community partners, and consultants to ensure business and program success. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, people development skills, is well organized, able to manage multiple priorities, has innovative ideas with a history of delivering results, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position reports directly to the Director of Social Enterprise (DSE).
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement LOB business and program strategies, and tactical plans, collaborate with supervisor to ensure alignment with department and agency Oversee onboarding and training of consultants and volunteers who support LOB.
- Supervise and develop staff including selection, onboarding, training, evaluation, and professional development.
- Ongoing enhancement of LOB training program.
- Provide scheduled and ad hoc revenue, sales tax, inventory, financial reports, and analytics to DSE.
- Achieve LOB goals by monitoring progress and using analytics to make good business decisions.
- Utilize scheduling software to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Develop, coordinate, and successfully implement LOB virtual and live events.
- Manage inventory to improve sell-through, reduce loss, and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with city, county, state, and federal employment, health, and safety standards.
- Create and implement an annual marketing strategy.
- Provide CP regular and ad hoc department, committee, and board reports to DSE.
- Oversee MADE branded product design and development, balance sustainability products with great training and career opportunities.
- Develop and manage strategic partner relationships with retailers, suppliers, vendors, artists, and thought partners.
- Stay on top of industry trends and competitor product lines.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to support program development and meet goals.
- Maintain LOB calendars to ensure product launch, marketing, production, and other important dates are met.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure marketing plans are launched on time and on budget.
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the DWC and MADE by DWC.
- Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the organization.

Competencies
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities of four (4) to five (5) full-time, a consultant, and trainees in the job-training program.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office, manufacturing, and warehousing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, marketing apps, E-commerce sites, a POS system, inventory management systems, light manufacturing equipment, etc.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand on a stool, lift and carry up to 35 lbs., travel between the two DWC sites, wholesale accounts, Pop-Up venues, and the sales showroom, as necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, exempt position. Office hours are 9 : 00 am to 5 : 30 pm with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary. This position requires flexibility during peak seasons, including adherence to blackout dates, between October 1 - December 31.
Travel
Travel between the two DWC sites and occasional travel to local wholesale accounts, Pop-Up venues, and the sales showroom are required for this position.

Pay Range
75,000-$80,000 / year
