Doyle’s Farm specializes in customizable school trips for all grade levels. A Field Trip Guide is responsible for leading school students through the farm, educating them about agriculture. Some of the topics covered are the purposes of different farm animals, about the different breeds of animals we have, how plants grow from a seed, how to make apple cider, how to bottle feed our baby animals, and more! You will be trained on these subjects and how to effectively educate students according to New Jersey curriculum guidelines. This position is perfect for retired teachers, childcare professionals, college students, or those looking to get a few hours of work in between a busy schedule. An educational and/or childcare background is preferred, but not necessary, as we will train you.
Necessary Skills:
· Sense of humor, positive attitude, and enthusiasm.
· Must be organized, and professional.
· Work well as a team.
· Work well independently.
· Follow directions.
· Experience working with children.
· Must be able to engage and stimulate children. Students coming to our farm are very excited and hyper, so you must be able to contain them and hold their attention.
· Able to work with all age groups in an engaging and stimulating way.
· Public speaking.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
· Prepping and cleaning up before and after field trips.
· Handling small animals (chickens, bunnies, baby goats).
· Physical capability to be on your feet for the duration of the field trip.
· Able to teach and communicate with young children.
· Working outdoors in different weather conditions.
· Teaching children about agriculture topics that our trips go over, with training. This includes planting seeds, bottle feeding goats, etc.
· Work well in a team environment and be able to communicate honestly and accept feedback.

Pay: $15.49 - $18.00 per hour
