About the Position:
Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers in New York City is seeking an Appraisal Coordinator for the Trusts & Estates Department. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, able to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent opportunity for an individual with an interest in the Arts. Full-time, in-house position, paid hourly at $21-$23 per hour. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities include:
· Manage the preparation of fair market value appraisals from the initial call to the delivery of the completed appraisal in a timely manner
· Attend on-site appraisals with the team of appraisers
· Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, executors and other clients and/or consultants, as required
· Organize and compile all materials needed for the appraisal from the appraisers and other sources
· Proofread your own work and the work of colleagues
· Participate in auctions and other events at Doyle
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree
· Basic understanding of fine and decorative arts terms, furniture styles and periods
· Basic understanding of appraisal reports and methodology
· Strong typing and proofreading skills and attention to detail
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe and similar programs
· Legally authorized to work in the United States
