Job Description:
- PURPOSE OF JOB:
To perform all Housekeeping and Housekeeping related duties necessary to provide a safe, clean, and aesthetic environment for customers, visitors, and associates of Doylestown Hospital. Coordinates and supervises Housekeeping Aides and Housekeeping Department Work load. Provides assistance in the training of new staff in proper cleaning methods, techniques, and duties. Performs all housekeeping and housekeeping related duties necessary to provide a clean, sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Follows the 7 step cleaning process for all assigned areas
- Removes & disposes of different waste streams according to hospital policy.
- Assist the Manager in supervising the day to day operation of the Housekeeping Department.
- Identifies and reports broken or faulty equipment, safety hazards and patient safety risks.
- Actively participates in Departmental meetings, in-services, required training, competency assessments and takes corrective action to improve performance.
- Consistently follows Infection Prevention guidelines to minimize the risk of cross contamination and reduce the spread of infection.
- Knowledge and expertise in cleaning all areas and of all tasks in the department. This includes specialized areas such as OR, Cath Lab, LDRP, etc
Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Able to read, write and communicate fluently in the English language.
- Experience: Environmental Services or other hospitality related experience preferred.
- Other Skills: Able to competently perform the following:
Knowledge of cleaning methods, products, equipment and of waste disposal and soiled linen handling procedures
Knowledge of proper body mechanics.
