Job Description:
- PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide Administrative coverage and representation from 1500-0700 Monday through Friday and 0700 to 0700 on weekends and holidays.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Utilizes managerial skills to effectively coordinate and evaluate hospital operations and implement alternative adjustments or accommodations as necessary.
- Utilizes critical assessment, evaluation and decision-making skills to implement emergency procedures in the event of internal/external disasters or emergencies.
- Utilizes expert knowledge of the nursing process and application of nursing care principles to ensure quality patient care. Consideration to age-specific criteria in evaluating patient needs in all clinical areas.
- Maintains clinical proficiency and knowledge of nursing policies and procedures in order to effectively represent hospital administration and service as a clinical resource to all departments.
- Maintains current knowledge of administrative, human resource and risk management polices and procedures in order to appropriately intervene in the best interest of the institution, staff and patient.
- Evaluation of new and existing staff.
Job Qualifications:
V. QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department f State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs.
- BSN required.
Experience:
- Five years' experience as a staff nurse, critical care experience.
- Minimum 2 years supervisory or management experience or comparable charge nurse experience required.
Other Skills:
- ACLS required
- Certification in Specialty Nursing or Nursing Administration preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional leadership and decision-making skills required.
Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively
