Sr. Financial Decision Support Applications Specialist
- PURPOSE OF JOB : Under guidance of the Director, Financial Planning, Analysis and Budget, responsible for the support, maintenance, oversight, and future technological initiatives to direct and improve the financial operations, decision support and reporting for the Health System. Review business processes and lead technology development; serve as liaison between IT and Finance; provide oversite for business systems and projects relevant to finance division; foster efforts to expand automation and efficiency. Ensure on-going administration and access updates to safeguard appropriate internal controls; manage database formation to convey accurate and relevant information; maintain relevant tables and dictionaries in stride with organizational growth and consolidation as necessary; contribute to finance division policies. Facilitate software vendor relationships and accountability for critical financial processes; schedule and complete system upgrades; ensure application functionality to support daily operations. Intentionally coordinate budgeting, development, implementation, testing, documentation and training for system improvements; develop reports and automate procedures for various financial operational areas.
- Ensure on-going administration and access updates to safeguard appropriate internal controls; manage database formation to convey accurate and relevant information; maintain relevant tables and dictionaries in stride with organizational growth and consolidation as necessary; contribute to finance division policies.
- Review business processes and lead technology development; serve as liaison between IT and Finance Division; provide oversite for business systems and projects relevant to finance division; foster efforts to expand automation and efficiency; provide internal Finance Associates systems' support
- Performs integral tasks related to monthly, quarterly, and annual close providing financial and statistical trend analysis and reporting for senior leadership, board committees and to comply with external reporting requirements.
- Facilitate software vendor relationships and accountability for critical financial processes; schedule and complete system upgrades; review and prioritize change requests/improvements for various systems and applications; collaborate to develop and execute interface builds and appropriate test plans; ensure application functionality to support daily operations.
- A considerable portion of this role includes routine and ad hoc special projects as well as other financial assessments to enhance strategic planning, and to evaluate on-going operations and new initiatives for the health system.

QUALIFICATIONS :
- Education: Master's Degree in Health Administration, Finance, Business, Computer Science or other related/relevant specialty
- Experience: 5 - 10 years of healthcare related finance and/or financial systems experience. Prior experience with systems implementation and/or financial analysis using sophisticated applications. Prior Meditech experience highly desired.
