Job Description:
- PURPOSE OF JOB:
Performs and serves as a resource for decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of all basic and specialized complex instrumentation.
Troubleshoots equipment and/or product failure and reports findings to Senior Manager of Sterile Processing.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Consistently ensures that instrument sets are complete prior to sterilization, record all missing items that are not replaced in instrument sets. (25%)
2. Demonstrates an understanding of basic principles of all types of sterilization methods and operates/maintains sterilizers according to the manufacturer recommendations. (25%)
3. Displays complete knowledge in identifying surgical instrumentation. (15%)
4. Reviews documentations, sterilization test results, and equipment monitors and records for accuracy. (15%)
5. Keep Department Manager informed of problems or issues with associates, customers, or vendors in a timely manner. (10%)
6. Ensure staff follow cleaning procedures per manufacture's instructions.

Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Certification from IAHCSMM (CRCST) OR CBSPD (CSPDT) required
- Experience:
- Three years of experience in a Sterile Processing Department with one year in a lead or charge role preferred
- Other Skills:
- Experience with inventory control, tracking systems, purchasing.
- Use of computers, decontamination, and sterilization systems
