General Laborer

Overview

• JOB SUMMARY:** This position is responsible for general labor and maintenance duties at Doyon Associated's in-town shop.
• Location:** Town / Projects
• Hours:** Town – 40 , Projects – 70
• Point of hire:** Fairbanks
• Position type:** Regular Full-time
  
  

Responsibilities

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

• Understand, practice and continually lead by example Doyon Associated's commitment to zero incident safety and environmental culture.
• General labor and maintenance at shop directed from Equipment Superintendent.
• Organize and clean shop.
• Remove snow and debris from yard.
• Assist mechanics as needed.
• Work closely with Equipment Superintendent as shop needs arise.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

• Ability to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours and in various environmental conditions.
• Ability to work in a team environment, take directions from supervisor(s), follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules.
• Listens carefully and asks questions to understand views, concerns, and comments of others.
• Ability to proactively work in a high paced, deadline-oriented environment. Ability to set and achieve goals and meet deadlines.
• Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.

Qualifications

**EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS**

• Minimum 1 year of experience to show a legacy of reliability and the ability to apply the necessary skills to
  
  

perform the tasks required.

• Valid Driver's License.
• Reliable means of transportation.
  
  

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT**

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Stand and walk for extended amounts of time.
• Work extended hours (scheduled and/or unscheduled, nights and/or weekends), occasionally, as needed or
  
  

required to meet established deadlines.
