What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Computer Technician position at DPC Technology?
General Summary:
DPC is looking for technicians that are interested in working in a fast-paced environment and consider their work A . This person should be a good communicator and a person who can manage well when the client is in a pickle and really needs strong guidance. This person should be capable of handling all issues at a computer level. Most importantly, this person should be eager to learn while following prescribed procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 1 support
- DAILY time entry accounting for at least 8 hours
- Check Backup Logs and update the tickets or reports
- Check Anti-virus
- Onboard Managed Service Clients
- Stage New Computers
- Assist Sr. Technicians on Larger projects
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Capable of installing and troubleshooting all basic computer components (e.g. Power supplies, NICs, Video Cards, Motherboards, CPUs)
- Capable of manually installing network printers
- Capable of terminating jacks and punch downs
- Experience required with Windows desktop operating systems
- Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet connectivity
- Understanding of the relationship between switches, patch panels and connecting nodes to a network
- Working Knowledge of Wireless Technologies, Capable of installing and troubleshooting WAPs
- 2 year College Degree or equivalent (4-year degree preferred)
Credentials and Experience:
- New hire with no certifications
- Eager to learn
- Takes direction from Technicians
