DHL currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Manager of Quality Control ( Miami). The Manager of Quality Control at DHL Miami International Airport is responsible for ensuring the airworthiness, safety, and regulatory compliance of DHL's aircraft, systems, and components operating in the region. This role oversees quality control inspections, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications, Panamanian Civil Aviation Regulations, FAA standards, and local aviation requirements. Based in Miami, FL, and reporting to the Quality Control Senior Manager in Panama, the position plays a vital role in maintaining operational integrity, coordinating with maintenance teams, and implementing quality assurance protocols. This leadership role requires strong technical expertise and a commitment to continuous improvement in aviation safety and compliance within the Miami hub and DHL’s broader network.
Key Accountabilities
- This position requires the holder to be able to quickly identify maintenance aircraft issues, requiring actions and solutions, according to aviation standards.
- Ability to make decisions in a fast and effective manner to ensure quality standards according to the Country’s CAA and FAA.
- Sets times, strategies and tactics to ensure proper compliance procedures in accordance with manufacturer reference and regulations requirements. Must comply with all responsibilities without delegating them to any Maintenance personnel.
- Directs inspection personnel as required to accomplish functional aspects of Quality Control and Aircraft Inspection Programs.
- Has the responsibility to select, hire, and conduct performance reviews of inspection personnel.
- Creates and maintains the work schedule of Inspectors in support of Maintenance and Customer needs.
- Ensure that all inspection personnel authorized to perform RII & Buyback inspections are properly qualified and trained.
- Ensures that employees assigned to perform each task have documented training to meet all Repair Station, Customer, Federal, State, and Local training requirements.
- Monitors compliance with procedures for the receipt, inspection, and storage of parts used in the overhaul and repair of components handled in the repair station.
- Maintains clear, open dialogue with Maintenance and ensures Inspection provides support for Maintenance activities. Ensures those activities comply with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
- Ensures regular communication with the Senior Quality Control Manager in support of Quality Systems and the overall health of the Inspection Team.
- Assures all Panamanian CAA, FAA and other federal regulations, and state and local laws are adhered to, as applicable.
- Assists in the development and administration of the company’s Quality Systems as required.
- Assists the Senior Quality Control Manager in the Corrective Action Program as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Quality Control Manager.
