This position will work a “Panama Schedule” for 24/7 shift coverage, 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, each team works the same shift (day) for 28 days then switches to the other shift (night) for the next 28 days.
What You Will Do:
You will be supporting a program in a classified environment as a Principal Linux System Administrator. This Network Operations Centre (NOC) position is responsible for monitoring the Infrastructure Service Provider (ISP) hosting equipment and services consisting of computers (server), networks, storage, and backup & archive, all in a fast-paced environment.
Tasks include monitoring system dashboards for the status of services, creating Incidents in the Incident Management system, assigning Incidents to the appropriate Tier-2/Tier-3 assignment groups, assisting with troubleshooting services to restore Full Mission Capability, and/or coordinating with other service.
Providers when incidents span system boundaries. Additionally, the role entails investigating and rectifying procedural discrepancies as well as identifying areas of process improvement.
Qualifications You Must Have:
This position must have experience with Ticketing Systems (ServiceNow, HelpNow, Remedy, JIRA, etc.)
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience
Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA , CND
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in Linux
- Experience with virtual / cloud computing technologies such as Citrix, VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience with Windows
- Experience with storage products from Oracle, EMC, Dell, Isilon, NetApp, DDN
- Experience in Networking
