What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solar Installer position at DPI Solar?
DPI Solar is hiring an installer with prior experience in solar installation, roofing, carpentry, or residential construction.
This team member will work alongside supportive colleagues on residential, commercial and community projects. Employees report to Sherwood Shop, with paid drive time to and from the jobsite in company vehicles. (Rarely will crew report directly to jobsite.)
Currently scheduling 4/10 shifts with 3-day weekends.
- Monday - Thursday
- 6am - 4:30pm
- Fri, Sat, Sun Off
Key Job Duties:
- Always follow safety protocols and use provided PPE
- Assemble, layout and install Solar PV system components according to building codes and provided plans
- Apply weather sealing to roof penetrations and flashings
- Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
- Document completed installations
- Restock vehicle with hardware and materials
- Attend required safety meetings and trainings (during shift)
- Regularly inspect safety equipment, tools, and vehicles
- Manage time and tasks effectively
- Complete additional tasks as requested by leadership

- Valid Driver's License
- Driving record free of major violations and without multiple minor infractions
- Reliable transportation to Sherwood
- Prior experience in Solar installation, carpentry, roofing, or residential construction
- Ability to work in year-around outdoor weather conditions
- Comfortable on rooftops and ladders
- Proficient in the use of Power Tools
- Ability to Read and use Tape Measure
- Safety awareness
- Attention to detail

- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
- Basic math & problem-solving skills
- Punctual and Dependable

Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of solar equipment
- Solar Installation Experience
- NABCEP training
- OSHA training
- Fall prevention training
