Land Survey Party/Crew Chief

DPK Consulting has immediate openings for Land Survey Party / Crew Chiefs. You must have 2-3 years experience as a Party / Crew Chief and be able to commute to our Edison office. A company vehicle will be provided. The Field Crew / Party Chief will collect field measurements and data and provide stake-out at the direction of the Survey Project Manager or office technician. The technician must be willing to work outside year round and must be capable of moderate to full physical activity. Also responsible for collecting all required field data for the preparation of a variety of surveying projects for both public and private clients and utilizing DPKs state-of-the-art instrumentation, which includes robotic total stations, and GNSS / GPS. On larger projects, the position may also include some supervisory responsibilities. Essential Functions Prepare field notes, photographs and sketches Collect boundary and topographic field measurements Responsible downloading conventional and GPS field data Recover and measure real property evidence Perform construction layout Ability to rotate, translate and calculate survey points in the field Equipment maintenance and calibration Oversees the training & development of the Assistant Field Technician On site client communicationParticipate in Health and Safety Program Supervisory Responsibility This position has limited supervisory responsibilities Other Duties Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
