DPR Group, (www.dprgroup.com), a successful, full-service public relations & marketing agency with a strong record representing high-tech companies throughout the United States and Europe is looking to add a public relations professional for a full-time position as an Assistant Account Executive at our office in Frederick, Maryland. This job is currently a hybrid position, where you would work in the office a few days per week and have the option to work from home on the other days. This position has the potential to move to a fully remote position for employees who advance to account executive.
We are looking for a quick learner who can advance to the next level within 6 months, however, we have found that our top account executives have put some time in doing the basic support work before moving up.

The Assistant Account Executive is open to college graduates and candidates with at least one-year of experience. This job provides opportunities for talented, hardworking individuals to learn all aspects of the public relations and marketing fields, while working in a support role with Account Executives. The Assistant Account Executive must be a highly motivated, highly organized team player who has the ability to work effectively on a number of projects at one time. The ideal candidate has just completed a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, science or a related degree, and is ready to begin his or her professional career.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, science or a related field
- Must have strong writing and editing skills; training in journalism or professional writing is a definite plus!
- Candidates with internships or background in public relations and/or marketing preferred.
- Previous internship or related experience in public relations or marketing is a plus
- Must have excellent verbal communications skills
- Ability to multi-task on a number of projects in order to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Word with the ability to learn new computer skills quickly
- Must be a legal resident of the USA
- Must be a highly motivated individual who takes pride in doing his or her very best work for DPR Group and our clients
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting research on industry awards, speaking opportunities and other topics
- Creating and updating media contact lists
- Writing, editing and distributing press releases, pitches and media alerts
- Writing high-quality bylined articles, case studies, blogs and social media posts
- Monitoring coverage of clients in news and publications
- Completing other background work as needed to support our Account Executives
- Learning to perform a variety of other PR and marketing tasks for our clients.
- Acquiring the necessary skills to grow into the Account Executive role
Although the majority of our work is done from our office or from your home, some limited travel to trade shows and client locations may be required.
