Surgery Counselor (Jeffersonville, IN)

Job Summary: As an Ophthalmic Surgery Counselor, you will assist patients with all aspects of pre-operative preparations, ensuring they feel confident and their surgical experience is smooth. Some travel is required.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred: Two years of experience in a surgical specialty.
• Required: Two years of experience in ophthalmology.

Responsibilities:

• Perform complete patient work-ups.
• Complete all surgical measurements and calculations.
• Explain surgery procedures and lens options to patients.
• Answer patient inquiries via telephone.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Operate in a professional office environment.
• Regularly required to talk, hear, and communicate with customers.
• Frequently use hands or fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequently stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Noise level is usually low to moderate.
