The Dr. Brandt Foundation was established in 2015, in loving memory of the late Dr. Fredric Brandt, who took his own life following a severe, largely silent struggle with depression. In his honor, the Foundation works to destigmatize conversations around mental health so that no one is afraid to seek help, while providing tangible, accessible mental health support to those in need, online and in real life.
The Dr. Brandt Foundation is dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of diverse and underserved communities and to bring awareness to mental health issues such as depression and suicide prevention. The Executive Director is responsible for running the day-to-day programming of the Dr. Brandt Foundation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute a regional and national strategic plan for Dr Brandt Foundation’s growth
- Develop and oversee annual budget, statement of accounts, and financial reporting
- Manage and oversee Fiscal Sponsorship relationship and process accounting requests
- Write grant proposals and manage large scale donations
- Run and expand Dr Brandt Foundation’s ongoing strategic programming and reach through local and national program engagement as well as through extensive partnerships
- Procure and retain the financial base of support for this work through development strategies including major gifts solicitation, community fundraising, foundation grants, corporate giving, and possibly government support
- Initiate, cultivate, and extend relationships with the organization’s portfolio of individual, foundation, and corporate supporters with an emphasis on developing new partnerships aligned to emerging strategic and fundraising efforts
- Direct and produce monthly digital content series around destigmatizing mental health conversations
- Develop, lead and implement all efforts for national mental health campaigns
- Draft and plan monthly social media calendar of mental health topics, resources, content, and giveaways
- Lead and produce all Foundation marketing collateral, monthly email blast and maintain overall brand identity
- Oversee and grow National Advisory Council to serve as industry experts on Foundation’s communication and programming
- Support and manage a small freelance team
- Plan and execute special events
- Collaborate and coordinate promotional efforts with Dr Brandt Skincare where applicable
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
· Ensure that all program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies
· Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures
· Establishes and maintains relationships with various organizations, and utilizes those relationships to strategically enhance the Foundation’s mission
· Other duties as assigned
Preferred Professional Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree; 8-10 years professional experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, program management, community engagement, and brand partnership development
- Experience in the mental health industry
- Experience with writing and managing grants
- Professional network of mental health industry experts and celebrity/influencers
- Proficiency in content development and production
- Experience with programmatic impact reporting and data analysis
- Proven development/fundraising acquisition and grant writing success
- “Big thinker” with a strong interest in overseeing the growth of programming locally and nationally
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in startup environment
- Successful track record of building or scaling an organization’s efforts at a quick pace
- Highly organized and efficient facilitator with the ability to manage progress on multiple projects simultaneously
- Extremely self-motivated with the ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
- A polished communicator and excellent writer who can effectively articulate the case for Dr Brandt Foundation support
