A Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients in a medical setting, handling administrative tasks like scheduling appointments, answering inquiries, and managing patient records. They are responsible for greeting patients, verifying insurance, processing payments, and maintaining a clean and organized reception area. Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and Check-in: Welcoming patients and visitors, checking them in and out, and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Scheduling and Appointment Management: Scheduling appointments, managing the calendar, and reminding patients of upcoming appointments.
  • Patient Record Management: Maintaining and updating patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Billing and Insurance Verification: Verifying insurance, processing payments, and handling billing inquiries.
  • Inquiry Handling: Answering phone calls and addressing patient questions professionally.
  • Administrative Support: Providing clerical and administrative support to the medical staff.
  • Communication: Communicating with patients, insurance companies, and other medical offices.
  • Maintaining a Clean and Organized Reception Area: Ensuring a welcoming and functional reception area.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients.
  • Administrative Skills: Proficiency in scheduling, record keeping, and data entry.
  • Medical Terminology: Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
