Dr. Green is searching for a positive, focused and compassionate full-time Dental Assistant to join his small and mighty staff. His practice has served the coastal Maine community for over two decades, and through the years he has devoted his professional life to developing his unique style of mastery in the field of dentistry.

However, if you do not have experience as a dental assistant but want to be welcomed into the world of dentistry, Dr. Green and his assistants will train the right candidate.
The job will consist of assisting Dr. Green with his appointments Monday - Thursday, working in tandem with another assistant.
The ideal candidate for this position:
- Is able to connect with patients professionally and compassionately. A welcoming and engaging attitude helps patients feel at ease when they arrive at the dental office.
- Is excited to work in collaboration with the staff at large, communicating clearly, respectfully, and kindly, and understanding we all have the same goal: to provide the best services to our patients in a comfortable and caring environment. It is imperative that the candidate for this position is a team player.
- Is organized and self-starting, and can communicate confidently and clearly.
- Holds current certificate in Dental Radiography in the state of Maine (not required upon hiring, but expected to complete within one year)
- Holds current certificate in CPR or BLS (not required upon hiring, but expected to complete as soon as possible)
- Achieved High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with Eaglesoft and Dexis, or equivalent preferred.
- Proficiency in knowledge of infection control, dental procedures, coordination of patient treatment, dental codes, basic in-office lab techniques (again, not required upon hiring, but expected to learn quickly on the job)
Dental Assisting tasks include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting the Doctor with exams and restorative, endodontic, and surgical appointments with efficiency and enthusiasm.
- Cleaning and sterilizing all instruments used, along with diligent disinfection of each operatory after use. Assist hygienists with sterilization and disinfection during down time.
- Coordinating and collaborating with other dental assistant and front desk staff in assuring the day flows smoothly. Open and clear communication with team members is imperative.
- Understanding the patient's treatment plan, patient communication, lab tracking and scheduling using Eaglesoft Practice Management Software.
- Taking accurate diagnostic radiographs.
- Taking impressions, and pouring and processing stone models.
- Fabricating in-office clear retainers and bleach trays
- Taking digital impressions using iTero Element
- Responsible for beginning-of-day and end-of-day opening and closing tasks.
Pay is commensurate with experience.
